About this project
The 5* Meliá Hotel in Lloret de Mar has a space dedicated to the little ones called “The Kidsdom”. A place where they can develop their imagination and creativity, as well as take care of a garden. This installation has made it necessary to create a shading space outside to be cooler, guaranteeing good protection from UV rays. We have designed this space made up of a set of tensioned sails, linked together, thinking about the little ones.
The union between sails helps to achieve a more closed shading space, since if not, the catenary of the sail would leave too large a passage of light, in case of need for shade. The fabric is breathable and, together with the colors, brings a fresher air to the environment. The Melià Hotel has committed to ensuring that children are also well protected from UV rays. The fabric blocks up to 98% of rays.
